About Metamifop
Metamifop is an herbicide jointly developed by Farm Hannong and the Korea Institute of Chemical Technology. It can be used to control rice and lawn weeds with excellent weeding effect and low toxicity. The product was first marketed in South Korea by Farm Hannong in 2008 and is used in rice, soybeans, cotton and vegetables. FMC has reached an agreement with Farm Hannong to sell metamifop in China, Indonesia, Philippines, India, Sri Lanka, and Pakistan. The global sales of metamifop in 2017 were 9.3 million USD. The expiration date of the Chinese compound patent of oxfenacet (ZL01823753.3) is November 1, 2021.
According to China Pesticide Registration Watch (CPRW), as of November 02, 2020, a total of 35 companies in China have registered 51 metamifop products (including technicals and formulations). The following is metamifop registration analysis.
